yoga for the trans and queer community
I'm a proud, queer woman, a yoga practitioner and a yoga teacher.
Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+, trans, gender non-binary and non-conforming or are a conscious ally, this space is for you and you are all welcome.
I'm interested in the power of yoga movement and mindful breath to heal, restore, calm and invigorate and I see the positive effects not just with my trans and queer clients but with everyone.
The practice we share will always be inclusive so that regular practitioners as well as those with little or no experience can participate - I suggest and demonstrate movements and you explore them in ways that suit you. There is never a right or wrong way - you learn the movement, explore it and make it your own guided by me.
Practicing online, we have the opportunity to create our safe space, wear clothes that help us to feel comfortable and to gather what we need: something to drink, a cushion and blanket, something soft to lie on and/ or a mat. My teaching is enabling and encouraging - we have time and space around us and within us to allow self-expression and healing to emerge without judgement.
We will explore the breath and mindful movement to strengthen the body as well as focus the mind to re-centre and ground us. The practice will evolve to meet the needs of those in the class and will always include movements, postures and attention to breathing.
